Mooer GE150 presets and settings
Compact floor unit with two footswitches and a built-in expression pedal. Nine effect blocks per preset, 55 amp models and 200 preset slots, with a looper and a drum machine.
⚡ Match a tone on this gearHow do you dial in a specific tone on a Mooer GE150?
A multi-effects unit gives you the whole chain in one box, which means the order of the blocks is as much of the answer as the values inside them. Settings for the Mooer GE150 name the amp model, the block order and the parameters together, rather than handing you numbers with no chain to put them in.
Name the song you are chasing and Tonelify returns the settings for this exact multi-effects unit, not the settings the original artist used. Those are two different things: the recording was made on gear most players do not own.
Starting settings on the Mooer GE150
Values as the unit's screen shows them, on its own scale; each drawn knob shows that value's share of the range. They are where to begin, not Mooer's numbers: pick the amp model first, then move one control at a time from here.
Clean
65 USTW, slot 2 in the AMP block, which Mooer bases on the Fender 65 Twin Reverb. Gain 30, Bass 50, Mid 50, Treble 60, Pres 40. The amp block has six knobs: Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, Pres and MST, its own master. Use MST to level this preset against your others and the MASTER knob for the overall volume. JAZZ 120, based on the Roland JC-120, is the other big clean.
- Gain 30
- Bass 50
- Mid 50
- Treble 60
- Pres 40
Edge of breakup and blues
65US DX, Mooer's model of the Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb, or US BLUES OD, its Fender Blues Deluxe. Gain 45, Bass 50, Mid 60, Treble 55, Pres 45. UK30 OD, an overdriven Vox AC30, is the British alternative.
- Gain 45
- Bass 50
- Mid 60
- Treble 55
- Pres 45
Classic rock
PLX 100, based on the Marshall Plexi 100, or J800, the Marshall JCM800. Gain 60, Bass 50, Mid 65, Treble 60, Pres 50. Keep the mids up: rock guitar sits in the midrange, and scooping it is the usual reason a preset sounds thin next to a band.
- Gain 60
- Bass 50
- Mid 65
- Treble 60
- Pres 50
Metal
TRI REC DS, Mooer's model of the Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier's distortion sound, or P5050 DS, the Peavey 5150. Gain 70, Bass 55, Mid 45, Treble 60, Pres 50. Switch on the NS block, where NOISE KILLER is based on Mooer's own pedal of that name. For tighter palm mutes, pick 808 in DS/OD, which Mooer bases on the Ibanez TS808, keep its own gain low, and take the amp's Gain down a step.
- Gain 70
- Bass 55
- Mid 45
- Treble 60
- Pres 50
Add 808 in DS/OD before you raise the Gain.
Lead
The two footswitches step through presets, so the simplest lead sound is a second preset saved in the slot next to the rhythm one: raise Mid by about 10, switch on PURE BOOST in DS/OD, which Mooer bases on its own Pure Boost pedal, and add a delay. With the DELAY block and its SUB-D on, pressing TAP twice sets the delay time. The expression pedal can also be set to a block's Level, Volume or MST in the EXP menu, which puts a solo boost under your foot.
Mooer GE150 amp list
The AMP block has 55 models: 52 amp channels and three acoustic simulators. Each row gives the amp Mooer names as the basis, with the slot number the screen shows before the name. The names are as the GE150 manual prints them, and it misprints a few: BLACKNIIGHI CL, MARKII CL and MARKIT DS are spelled BLACKNIGHT CL, MARKIII CL and MARKIII DS in Mooer's GE250 manual, which lists the same models.

Mooer GE150 questions
What amps are in the Mooer GE150?
55 models: 52 amp channels and three acoustic simulators. Mooer's manual bases them on amps including the Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb, 65 Twin Reverb, 59 Bassman, Super Sonic and Blues Deluxe; the Marshall JCM800, JCM900 and Plexi 100; the ENGL E650, E645 and Blackmore; the Mesa Boogie Mark III, Mark V and Triple Rectifier; the Orange Rockerverb, AD 30 and OR 50; the Soldano SLO-100; the Dr. Z Maz 18 Jr and Z-Wreck; the Jet City JCA100H; the Roland JC-120; the Vox AC30; the Hiwatt DR-103; the Peavey 5150 and EVH 5150; the Tone King Falcon; the Two Rock Coral and Cardiff; the Blackstar HT Stage 100; the Diezel Hagen and the Koch Powertone. Many come as a clean and a distortion version. The full table, with slot numbers, is below.
How many effects can the GE150 use at once?
Nine, one in each block: FX/COMP, DS/OD, AMP, CAB, NS, EQ, MOD, DELAY and REVERB. Mooer counts 151 effects in all. The MODE knob moves between blocks and a press turns the block on or off; the VALUE knob picks the effect and edits its values.
Should you use the GE150's amp models with a guitar amp?
Into the front of a guitar amp, Mooer says to turn off the AMP and CAB blocks and use the GE150 for its effects. Into the amp's effects return, turn off CAB only. Into a full-range (FRFR) speaker, leave both on. CAB SIM THRU in the SYSTEM menu sets the cabinet simulation for each output, so one output can feed an amp's return without it while the other feeds a mixer with it.
Can you load your own IRs into the GE150?
Yes. Mooer's manual lists 26 user slots for third-party IR files and gives the format: WAV, 44.1 kHz, 24 bit, 512 sample points.
How do you save a preset on the GE150?
Press SAVE, pick the slot, edit the name with the VALUE knob and confirm. There are 200 preset slots. Expression pedal settings are stored with the preset too, so press SAVE after changing them.
How long is the looper on the GE150?
Mooer's manual gives 80 seconds in its feature list and again on its looper page, where it says playback starts by itself once a recording passes 80 seconds; the badge on the manual's cover says 60. Hold the up footswitch to open the looper: the down footswitch then records, plays and overdubs, and the up footswitch stops, or clears the loop when held for a second. Editing a preset does not change the tone of a loop you have already recorded.
Can the GE150 record to a phone or a computer?
Both. The OTG port, a micro USB socket, sends audio to a phone or tablet that supports OTG, for recording or live streaming, with its level set under SYSTEM. The USB type-B port connects to a Windows PC or a Mac for direct recording, firmware updates and preset editing in Mooer Studio.
Can the Mooer GE150 run on batteries?
Mooer's manual lists one power source, a 9V DC adaptor, 300 mA, centre negative, and no battery. The unit measures 230 by 156 mm and about 33 mm high, and weighs 1 kg.
What are the best Mooer GE150 settings for metal?
Start with TRI REC DS or P5050 DS, Gain 70, Bass 55, Mid 45, Treble 60 and Pres 50, with the NS block on and 808 in DS/OD. These are starting points rather than Mooer's numbers. If it fizzes, lower Gain first and Treble second.
How do you build a patch on the Mooer GE150?
Pick the amp model first, then set its controls, then add the blocks in signal-chain order: drive before the amp, time and modulation after it. A patch built the other way around ends up compensating for the wrong stage. Tonelify returns the model, the order and the parameters together.
Does Tonelify support the Mooer GE150?
Yes. Name it in the tone matcher along with the song you are chasing and the settings come back adapted to it. Gear does not need to be in the catalog for a match to run.
