Mooer GE250 presets and settings
Floor unit with bank and A, B, C footswitches, a built-in expression pedal, XLR outputs and an effects loop. 70 amp models, 255 presets, and Tone Capture for sampling your own amp.
⚡ Match a tone on this gearHow do you dial in a specific tone on a Mooer GE250?
A multi-effects unit gives you the whole chain in one box, which means the order of the blocks is as much of the answer as the values inside them. Settings for the Mooer GE250 name the amp model, the block order and the parameters together, rather than handing you numbers with no chain to put them in.
Name the song you are chasing and Tonelify returns the settings for this exact multi-effects unit, not the settings the original artist used. Those are two different things: the recording was made on gear most players do not own.
Starting settings on the Mooer GE250
Values as the unit's screen shows them, on its own scale; each drawn knob shows that value's share of the range. They are where to begin, not Mooer's numbers: pick the amp model first, then move one control at a time from here.
Clean
65 US TW, slot 2 in the AMP block, which Mooer bases on the Fender 65 Twin Reverb. Gain 30, Bass 50, Mid 50, Treble 60, Pres 40. MST is the amp block's master volume: use it to level this preset against your others. JAZZ 120, based on the Roland JC-120, is the other big clean, and US GOLD 100 CL is the clean channel of a Friedman BE100.
- Gain 30
- Bass 50
- Mid 50
- Treble 60
- Pres 40
Edge of breakup and blues
65 US DX, Mooer's model of the Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb, or US BLUES OD, the drive channel of a Fender Blues Deluxe. Gain 45, Bass 50, Mid 60, Treble 55, Pres 45. UK30 OD is the drive channel of a Vox AC30, and REGAL TONE OD1 the Tweed channel of a Tone King Falcon.
- Gain 45
- Bass 50
- Mid 60
- Treble 55
- Pres 45
Classic rock
PLX100, based on the Marshall Plexi 100, or J800, the Marshall JCM800. Gain 60, Bass 50, Mid 65, Treble 60, Pres 50. Keep the mids up: rock guitar sits in the midrange, and scooping it is the usual reason a preset sounds thin next to a band. CUSTOM 100 Ch2, the drive channel of a Custom Audio Amplifiers PT100, is the next one to try.
- Gain 60
- Bass 50
- Mid 65
- Treble 60
- Pres 50
Metal
TRI REC DS, the distortion channel of a MESA/Boogie Triple Rectifier, or EV 5050 DS, the EVH 5150. Gain 70, Bass 55, Mid 45, Treble 60, Pres 50. In the NS block, INTEL REDUCER is a gate before the drive and NOISE GATE one after it. For tighter palm mutes, pick 808 in DS/OD (Mooer: based on the Ibanez TS808) with Gain low and Volume up, and take the amp's Gain down a step. CALI JP C, the distortion channel of a Mesa Boogie JP-2C, and US GOLD 100 DS, the Friedman BE100, are the other high-gain choices.
- Gain 70
- Bass 55
- Mid 45
- Treble 60
- Pres 50
Add 808 in DS/OD before you raise the Gain.
Lead
Each bank holds three presets on footswitches A, B and C, so a rhythm sound and a lead sound can sit side by side. Inside one preset, the CTRL function turns the blocks you choose on and off together when you press the current preset's footswitch again: assign the drive and the delay to it and one press adds a boost and an echo. Holding that footswitch for a second changes CTRL between ON/OFF and TAP, which sets the delay time by tapping. With Trail on, Mooer says the delay and reverb tails carry on for a few seconds after you switch them off or change preset, as long as both presets use the same delay and reverb.
Mooer GE250 amp list
The AMP block has 70 models: 67 amp channels and three acoustic guitar simulators. Each row gives the amp and channel Mooer names as the basis, with the slot number. Slots 71 to 80 are empty, for extra amp models loaded from the computer editor.

Mooer GE250 questions
What amps are in the Mooer GE250?
70 models: 67 amp channels and three acoustic guitar simulators, with slots 71 to 80 left empty for more. Mooer's manual bases them on amps including the Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb, 65 Twin Reverb, 59 Bassman, Super Sonic and Blues Deluxe; the Marshall JCM800, JCM900 and Plexi 100; the ENGL E650, E645 and Blackmore; the MESA/Boogie Mark III, Mark V, Triple Rectifier and JP-2C; the Orange Rockerverb, AD 30 and OR 50; the Soldano SLO-100; the Dr. Z Maz 18 Jr and Z-Wreck; the Jet City JCA100H; the Roland JC-120; the Vox AC30; the Hiwatt DR-103; the Peavey 5150 and JSX; the EVH 5150; the Tone King Falcon; the Two Rock Coral and Cardiff; the Blackstar HT Stage 100; the Diezel Hagen; the Koch Powertone; the Friedman BE100; the Custom Audio Amplifiers PT100; the PRS Archon and the Suhr Badger 30. The full table, with slot numbers and channels, is below.
How many effect blocks does the GE250 have?
The effect list covers ten blocks in the chain: FXA and FXB, DS/OD, AMP, CAB, NS, EQ, FX LOOP, DELAY and REVERB. Tone Capture is one more, which does not show in the chain; Mooer says it sits between AMP and CAB. The manual itself gives two figures, 11 effect blocks in its feature list and 10 on its preset page. The order of the blocks in the chain can be changed from the DISPLAY page, and Mooer counts more than 180 effects in all.
What is Tone Capture on the GE250?
A way to sample your own amp into a new amp sound. Mooer describes it as a learning and comparison engine. You connect the amp by the four-cable method, so the amp needs a serial effects loop, start Tone Capture from the SYSTEM menu, pick one of the GE250's amp models as the source with its Gain and MST close to the real amp's, and play while it samples; Mooer suggests a hard open chord first, then the full range of the guitar. The sample is saved to a slot and switched in with the TONE CAPTURE button, and it works together with an amp model.
Should you use the GE250's amp models with a guitar amp?
Into the front of a guitar amp or into its effects loop, Mooer recommends turning off the AMP and CAB blocks. Into a power amp or an amp's return, it recommends keeping AMP on. Into a full-range (FRFR) speaker, a PA, an audio interface or headphones, keep both AMP and CAB on. CAB SIM THRU in the SYSTEM menu takes the cabinet simulation off an output, so one output can feed an amp while another feeds a mixer. For the four-cable method, turn on the FX LOOP block, set it to Serial and turn AMP and CAB off.
Can you load your own IRs and amp models into the GE250?
Yes. The CAB block has 10 user slots for third-party impulse responses: WAV files at 44.1 kHz and 24 bits, 2048 sample points. Mooer's own MNRS sample files load through the GE250 editor on a computer: a GNR file is an amp model and goes into an empty slot of the AMP block, and a GIR cabinet file goes into the CAB block.
How many presets does the GE250 hold?
255, as 85 banks of three: the bank footswitches move between banks, and A, B and C pick the preset. Press SAVE to store an edit. The order of the chain, each block's effect and values, which blocks are on, and the expression pedal and CTRL settings are all saved with the preset.
What outputs does the GE250 have?
Two unbalanced 1/4 inch outputs, two balanced XLR outputs with a ground lift switch and their own level knob, and a headphone output. There is also an effects loop (send and return), MIDI in and out, a jack for a second expression pedal and a USB type-B port for recording and the editor. The Global EQ can be set separately for the main outputs, the headphones and the XLR outputs.
How long is the looper on the GE250?
70 seconds, with a PRE and a POST mode for where it sits relative to the effects. The rhythm block adds 60 drum patterns and 10 metronome styles to play along with.
Can the Mooer GE250 run on batteries?
Mooer's specifications list one power source, the supplied 9V supply rated at 1 A, and no battery. The unit measures 324 by 162 by 60 mm and weighs 1.7 kg.
What are the best Mooer GE250 settings for metal?
Start with TRI REC DS or EV 5050 DS, Gain 70, Bass 55, Mid 45, Treble 60 and Pres 50, with a gate from the NS block and 808 in DS/OD. These are starting points rather than Mooer's numbers. If it fizzes, lower Gain first and Treble second.
How do you build a patch on the Mooer GE250?
Pick the amp model first, then set its controls, then add the blocks in signal-chain order: drive before the amp, time and modulation after it. A patch built the other way around ends up compensating for the wrong stage. Tonelify returns the model, the order and the parameters together.
Does Tonelify support the Mooer GE250?
Yes. Name it in the tone matcher along with the song you are chasing and the settings come back adapted to it. Gear does not need to be in the catalog for a match to run.
